Aspen Ridge Church has a thriving children’s ministry in our KidZone with several avenues to help your child grow in faith while having a great time!
Weekend classes are offered on Saturdays and Sundays during each church service. Classes are led by loving, mature teachers, who have prepared lessons from the Lifeway Ministries, Explore the Bible: Kids Study Plan. This exciting curriculum teaches every Biblical, foundational story over a 5 year period using dynamic lessons, lively music and fun games and crafts. Sunday morning kids are welcome to attend both services for even more fun content. Two services allow parents to worship one hour and to serve in children or student ministries, or participate in a small group during the other.
Awana is a program for preschool through 6th grade that meets Wednesday night from 6:30 – 8:00 PM during the school year. (Middle school and high school AWANA programs are also supported.) AWANA stands for “Approved Workmen are not Ashamed,” taken from 2 Timothy 2:15. The goal is to reach children with the gospel of Christ and to train them to serve Him. Each club night offers a fun-filled game program, Bible memorization and a speaker for kids, along with songs and special music. Awards are earned for activities and memorization completed. AWANA begins after the weekly family dinner served at 5:30 PM. To find out more about AWANA itself, you can visit their site here.
Registration is still open for 2022-2023.
Vacation Bible School
VBS is hands-down the most fun week of a child’s summer! Children rotate through vibrantly themed spaces throughout the church, participating in Bible stories, games, music, crafts and snacks. VBS is for preschool through 5th grade and is offered every summer for one week in June. Our 2023 VBS will be Cokesbury’s “Food Truck Party: On A Roll With God!”, and will be June 12 – 16 from 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM. Registration will start a couple months before VBS begins.
Special events are periodically held throughout the year for families with children in the community. It is important for us to reach our neighbors with a loving hand and welcome them to join us! Some ways we do this are through fall festivals, egg hunts at Easter and summer picnics! Please drop in any time — we look forward to meeting you!
If you have any questions, please feel free contact the church office or Debbie Stewart, Director of Children’s Ministries, or just stop by at the KidZone station downstairs on Sunday morning.

We are also able to reschedule and swap dates as needed. Thank you all so much for serving in this important ministry!
