MESSAGE NOTES

Tell Your Story Well
Mark 5:14-20
Dr. Jeffrey Clark

“Go home to your people, and report to them what great things the Lord has done for you, and how he has mercy on you.”  Mark 5:19

Jesus and the Gerasene Demoniac, 5:1-13.
Jesus’ charge to the Gerasene Demoniac, 5:14-20.

The Big Idea: Prepare and tell your faith story to people in your relational circles.

Go to your people.
Prepare your faith story.
Share your faith story.

Quick Review: Looking back at your notes from this week’s teaching, was there anything that particularly caught your attention, challenged or confused you?

My Story: Describe some key moments if you have turned to personal faith in Jesus Christ.

Digging Deeper:

1) There are many descriptions of this person’s uncleanness and bondage. Describe.

2) There is little drama in the encounter of this man with Jesus. Jesus simply gives permission and the unclean spirits come out. Discuss.

3) Why did Jesus deny that this person could be among His followers and what did He charge him to do in this region?

Taking It Home: Write out your faith story using the before and after pattern. Share your story with three people this week.

NEWCOMERS RECEPTION

We would love to meet you at our Welcome Center in the lobby and share a gift and available opportunities. Our Pastoral team would also love to meet you and will linger in the front after the services to this end. You may let us know you were here by using a Communication Card found in our worship folder. We receive these in containers on tables in the Celebration Center.

BENEVOLENT OFFERING

This weekend is an opportunity to contribute to the Benevolent Fund, which is used for our church family and community members in times of need. If you wish to contribute, you may give your gift on the way out of the service today.

WINDOW BLINDS IN THE CELEBRATION CENTER

Have you noticed a change with our window blinds during our worship services lately? We are trying an experiment currently with keeping them down for the entirety of the service and opening them before and after services. One reason for this is it allows maximum visibility on our overhead-display projection screens. Another reason is we now have plenty of light from our new “house lights” and no longer need the windows to supplement what used to be much dimmer lights. Thanks for trying this experiment with us!

BAPTISM WEEKEND
