The Great [Com]Mission
Matthew 28:18-20
Kreg Kastelz

The Big Idea: This is a mission for all Christians.

Notes:

DISCUSSION QUESTIONS

Quick Review: Looking back at your notes from this week’s teaching, was there anything that particularly caught your attention, challenged or confused you?

My Story: If you had to evaluate yourself on how well you are fulfilling the great commission of Jesus, how would you judge yourself? How can you get a little better?

Digging Deeper:

1) What is the #1 thing that motivates you to tell others about Jesus or to have spiritual conversations? (Some possible examples include it being a command, the reality of hell, to save people from their life apart from God right now, etc.)

2) What is something that holds you back from telling others about Jesus?

3) What stories in your life might help point others to Jesus? Can you tie your story into what Jesus is doing in your life?

4) How can you better rely on the spirit of God in your conversations with others?

Taking It Home: Try asking God for opportunities this week to tell people His story and see what happens!

NEWCOMERS RECEPTION

We welcome Kreg Kastelz, our Pastor of Student Ministries, as our speaker this weekend. We would love to meet you at our Welcome Center in the lobby and share a gift and available opportunities. Our Pastoral team would also love to meet you and will linger in the front after the services to this end. You may let us know you were here by using a Communication Card found in our worship folder. We receive these in containers on tables in the Celebration Center.

WEDDING ANNIVERSARY

Pastor Jeff and Mary are away this weekend in Summit County celebrating their 35th Wedding Anniversary. Pastor Kreg Kastelz is preaching this weekend and available for pastoral needs and responsibilities. Pastor Jeff will return to Aspen Ridge Church on Monday, March 27.

CHRIST IN THE PASSOVER

On Palm Sunday Family Services Weekend, we are pleased to present a “Christ in the Passover” event through the Jews for Jesus ministry. This event will re-enact the Jewish celebration of Passover and show us how it points to Jesus Christ. This will be a great event for the whole family, and to extend invitations to neighbors/friends.

THE BRIDGE

Aspen Ridge Church is hosting an orientation meeting called the Bridge on Sunday, April 16 at 4:00 PM (and through the dinner hour). This meeting serves as an on-ramp to church life, describing who we are and what future we seek in our church. There are additional spaces available. If you would like to connect, please indicate on our communication card.

ASPEN RIDGE CHURCH CUSTODIAN

Aspen Ridge Church has heard that Patrick Murphy will retire from his role as church custodian in a few months. We would like to thank Patrick for such faithful service and ministry! We will also be fielding enquiries for a future replacement for this important role. If you have interest or suggestions, please contact Jack Wealing at 219.863.2760.

PURSUING JESUS FIRST

When was the last time you left a conference with your heart refreshed? Can you think of leaving a seminar with your soul screaming “give me more”? Yeah, me neither, until March of this year when I attended the Converge “Pursuing Jesus First in Life and Ministry” conference. Check out my recent blog “Pursuing Jesus First!”
