MESSAGE NOTES
Engaging in Spiritual Conversations
Proverbs 11:30
Dr. Jeffrey Clark
The Big Idea: Wise people engage in spiritual conversations.
Question: How does one engage in more spiritual conversations?
Pray for opportunities
Make it a priority
Get out and into your community
Establish routines and cultivate relationships
Quick Review: Looking back at your notes from this week’s teaching, was there anything that particularly caught your attention, challenged or confused you?
My Story: Compare notes with others about challenges you face in having spiritual conversations.
Digging Deeper:
1) In debriefing Proverbs 11:30, what is it about capturing souls that is inspiring and/or intimidating?
2) In considering the example of Jesus, what can you learn from His interaction with the Rich Young Ruler or Nicodemus, about having spiritual conversations?
3) When was the last time you asked God to open new doors of opportunity for you?
4) If you were to tithe your time to community service and interaction what would your work week look like?
5) What relational commitments are you making in your community? What places do you frequent in your community?
NEWCOMERS RECEPTION
We would love to meet you at our Welcome Center in the lobby and share a gift and available opportunities. Our Pastoral team would also love to meet you and will linger in the front after the services to this end. You may let us know you were here by using a Communication Card found in our worship folder. We receive these in containers on tables in the Celebration Center.
SOUP’ER SATURDAY & FOOD TRUCK FELLOWSHIP WEEKEND
Please join us for our Soup’er Saturday and Food Truck Fellowship this weekend. Soup’er Saturday begins immediately following our Saturday evening service at 6:00 PM and Food Truck Fellowship is offered beginning at 9:15 AM and continuing after our second Sunday service.
WINDOW BLINDS IN THE CELEBRATION CENTER
Have you noticed a change with our window blinds during our worship services lately? We are trying an experiment currently with keeping them down for the entirety of the service and opening them before and after services. One reason for this is it allows maximum visibility on our overhead-display projection screens. Another reason is we now have plenty of light from our new “house lights” and no longer need the windows to supplement what used to be much dimmer lights. Thanks for trying this experiment with us!
