Isaiah 40:12-26
Marcus Mackey

Who can give God counsel?
The Greatness of God and the nations.
The Greatness of God and world rulers.

DISCUSSION QUESTIONS

Quick Review: Looking back at your notes from this week’s teaching, was there anything that particularly caught your attention, challenged or confused you?

Digging Deeper:

1) Based on the passage, what was something you had never thought of before?

2) How did the passage enlarge or challenge your understanding of who God is?

3) How do you help one another increase and grow in your awe of God?

4) Your actions demonstrate the reality of your belief, what do your actions demonstrate when you aren’t trusting God?

5) What will change about your life this week based on the passage?

NEWCOMERS RECEPTION

We welcome Marcus Mackey as our speaker this weekend, beginning a three-week series. Marcus is our Church Planter in Residence. We would love to meet you at our Welcome Center in the lobby and share a gift and available opportunities. Our Pastoral team would also love to meet you and will linger in the front after the services to this end. You may let us know you were here by using a Communication Card found in our worship folder. We receive these in containers on tables in the Celebration Center.

NEW SERIES “MADE FOR THIS”

Being a follower of Christ in our time and culture has become increasingly unpopular. Our God has already overcome this world, we can take courage because He reigns and rules over all the days. He wants to leverage our gifts and talents, all for the name of Jesus and the advancement of the gospel. And this is why we were MADE FOR THIS!

WEEKEND SCHEDULE

After two weekends of a modified, holiday schedule, Aspen Ridge Church rotates back to our regular schedule for weekend worship services. These include Saturday at 5:00 PM, Sunday at 9:00 AM and 10:30 AM. Further, we present our full template of children’s classes and adult small group meetings opposite each service.

CELEBRATION OF LIFE FOR ALEXIS CARDINAL

The family of Alexis Cardinal invites you to join them in a Celebration of Life Service for their daughter Alexis at Aspen Ridge Church on Sunday, January 8 at 3:00 PM. Aspen Ridge Church is celebrating progress toward our “Rediscover Church” initiative of supporting an Indian Hills Church plant (Grace Hills) and reducing the outstanding mortgage on our building. We celebrate this financial support and give God the credit for such generous provision.

SANCTITY OF LIFE

Aspen Ridge Church stands for the sanctity of human life. During this “Sanctity of Human Life” month, we are reminded of Psalm 139:13,14 “I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well. My frame was not hidden from you, when I was being made in secret, intricately woven in the depths of the earth.” We are ministry partners with Life’s Options and pray for this local service in January.
