MESSAGE NOTES

Look Up with a Great Multitude
Revelation 7:9-12
Dr. Jeffrey Clark

Problem: How is the Great Commission realized in the “end times”?

The Great Tribulation, 6:1-16ff.
All Israel will be sealed, 7:1-8.
A Great Multitude in God’s presence, 7:9-17.

DISCUSSION QUESTIONS

Quick Review: Looking back at your notes from this week’s teaching, was there anything that particularly caught your attention, challenged or confused you?

My Story: Think about an exotic or enchanting place you visited in a remote part of the world. What was it like?

Digging Deeper:

1)  Last week’s context included a Great Tribulation over the entire earth. Such was promised in the Old Testament and described as Jacob’s trouble (Jeremiah 30:7). What is the purpose of this tribulation and how is that purpose realized in the first eight verses of Chapter 7?

2) God’s promises to Israel are not removed or taken away. Instead, despite Israel’s past and present resistance to Jesus Christ, God has a future salvation for Israel described in Romans 11:1, 25, 29.

3)  Our passage speaks about people from every tribe, tongue, people and nation assembled around God’s throne in worship (7:9-12). How does this describe God’s inclusive heart for the world?

4) God has established the means to realize this gathering of all people around God’s throne (Matthew 28:18-20). Just what is our mission and why is it important?

Taking it Home: This message featured eight “Aspen Ridge” missionaries reaching out toward many people, tribes, tongues and nations around the world. Pick up a missionary passport in a media stand and send a note of encouragement this week.

NEWCOMERS RECEPTION

We would love to meet you at our Welcome Center in the lobby and share a gift and available opportunities. Our Pastoral team would also love to meet you and will linger in the front after the services to this end. You may let us know you were here by using a Communication Card found in our worship folder. We receive these in containers placed on tables in the Celebration Center.

NEWCOMER’S EAT & GREET

Are you interested in getting to know more about Aspen Ridge Church? Pastor Jeff and Mary will host this informal gathering at their home on Sunday, February 27 at 2:00 PM. The address is 7183 Pinewood Drive in Evergreen. We would love to connect with you and hear more about your interests and desires.

PARENT DEDICATION

Aspen Ridge Church will provide a “Parent Dedication” weekend on March 12/13. A “Parent Dedication” is a time and occasion for parents to make a public and church-wide commitment to raise their children in the discipline and instruction of the Lord. If you are interested in making this kind of public commitment, please contact the pastoral staff.

UPCOMING MEN’S RETREAT

“Come to me all you who are weary and heavy laden, and you will find rest for your soul” – Jesus. Men, please join us Friday evening, March 18 from 6:30-9:00 PM and Saturday, March 19 from 7:45 AM-4:00 PM as we respond to Jesus’ invitation to find rest and refreshment for our souls! Please go to https://reclaimministries.org/registration-beyond/ to register and for more information.

BAPTISM

After celebrating baptisms a few weeks ago, we have received interest in providing an additional baptism service. We will do so in the Spring on Easter weekend, April 16/17. We will provide three baptism orientation meetings, with the expectation that someone getting baptized will attend at least one. These meetings will be March 16 at 6:30 PM; March 24 at 5:00 PM and April 2 at 1:00 PM. If you are interested in baptism, please indicate on our communication card or call the church office and we will provide the needed support and orientation.

SAVE THE DATE FOR VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL (VBS)!

VBS will be held June 13-17! We moved it back one week because of a church scheduling conflict. Keep an eye out for volunteer sign-up opportunities in April. Registration for kids will open in May.

TOGETHER TO TRANSFORM 2022

Converge Rocky Mountain’s annual conference is being held on March 11-12 at the Orchard Church in Henderson, CO. This year’s conference is entitled “Welcome Home – Your New Home” and is a new missiology for a post-COVID world. Along with breakouts on community outreach, online ministry and effective assimilation systems. There are brochures available in the Media Stands and online registration is now open at https://togethertotransform.org and includes a schedule/detail.

WEDNESDAY NIGHT DINNER

Join us on Wednesday from 5:30-6:30 PM for a delicious meal of meatloaf, green beans, mashed potatoes and glazed carrots served in our Celebration Center. The cost is $3.00/person or $10/family, and we would love to meet you there.

MOBILE FOOD SHARE

Aspen Ridge Church will make our parking lot available for a Mobile Food Share program on Tuesdays from 3:30-4:00 PM. Mobile Food Share is a place where people can come and help reduce food waste by taking rescued food from our local grocery stores. It is a place where people can support their local farmers/ ranchers by participating. And the best part? It’s all FREE! Mountain Resource Center will bring a refrigerated van and distribute free food from our location. When neighbors “donate instead of dump,” and “buy local” our environment is protected, and families are fed instead of landfills. Everyone is eligible, no special requirements or documentation are needed. Please note that the Mobil Food Share will not operate in temperatures of 20 degrees or under.
