MESSAGE NOTES

Creating Thirst
Isaiah 55:1-5
Dr. Jeffrey Clark

The Big Idea: God in Christ satisfies spiritual thirst and hunger.

Question: How does one create thirst for God in Christ?

Look for God’s work in the lives of people.
Learn to ask good questions.
Get into their stories.
Be willing to take a risk.
Guard your heart.

DISCUSSION QUESTIONS

Quick Review: Looking back at your notes from this week’s teaching, was there anything that particularly caught your attention, challenged or confused you?

My Story: Describe some of your favorite food and drinks. In what way do they satisfy?

Digging Deeper:

1) What are key indicators that God is at work in your conversations?

2) When was the last time you experienced a spiritual risk in a relationship?

3) What are good questions that you have used to gauge a person’s receptivity to spiritual things?

4) What are some ways you can get people talking about themselves?

5) Describe ways you actively guard your heart.

Taking It Home: Ask a good question that in turn allows you to listen to another person’s spiritual journey. The question could be “are you interested in spiritual things?” or “do you think most people are on a spiritual journey?”
