…to the Ends of the Earth – Equal Opportunity NOT Equal Outcomes
Dr. Jeffrey Clark
The Big Idea: Different outcomes provide opportunity for God to display His attributes.
Agabus & Judea
James, Brother of John
Quick Review: Looking back at your notes from this week’s teaching, was there anything that particularly caught your attention, challenged or confused you?
My Story: In what way do you see equal opportunity, but not equal outcomes, among your brothers and sisters, or as you observe life in general?
Human beings are made in the image of God (Genesis 1:26) and with equal accountability before God’s eventual and ultimate judgment (2 Corinthians 5:10). God is just (Genesis 18:25), and human responsibility is an important reality in the scriptures. Discuss.
God is never guilty of injustice; however, He may choose to bestow unmerited favor on some (perhaps best described by the term nonjustice). Among those described in this passage, upon whom does God bestow grace? What means does He use to do this?
Review the different outcomes for the Antioch Church (Acts 11:21-4), people in Judea (Acts 11:27-29), James (Acts 12:2), Peter (Acts 12:3-17) and Herod (Acts 12:20-23). How do these outcomes become an opportunity for God to display different qualities?
Taking It Home: With which of these individuals do you most identify? What opportunity do you have to turn to Christ in your present circumstances? How may your circumstances be an opportunity to serve your neighbors?
We want to extend a special welcome to visitors and guests, and we invite you to an informal reception immediately following our worship service. Pastor Jeff will meet you at the Welcome Center, where you can receive a special gift when you turn in a Communication Card.

We also had fun activities for children and families, including hay rides. Our spotlight ministry this year was IdRaHaJe. Thanks to all who served, attended and made such a community outreach a reality.
