Isaiah 61:1-4
Todd Ickes

The Big Idea: Where does the power to change come from?

  • Know Truth.
  • Renounce Lies.
  • Reclaim Identity.
  • Live on Purpose.

Quick Review: Looking back at your notes from this week’s teaching, was there anything that particularly caught your attention, challenged or confused you?

Discussion Questions:

  1. Why do some Christians thrive, while others struggle? Give an example of a Christian you know that thrived/is thriving. What do you see them doing consistently?
  2. Who is responsible for producing fruit: The vine or the branch? John 15:1-17 (Apart from Me, you can do nothing) Who is doing the work in my life…me…or God? If God is doing the work in my life…then what is my role?
  3. What is the Holy Spirit’s role in my life? Do I recognize the Holy Spirit’s voice in my day-to-day life? Give an example of how the Spirit has changed you in a way that you couldn’t have on your own.
