The Great Commission
Matt 28:16-20
Geoff Folland, CRU – Australia

The Big Idea: We should be committed to helping fulfill the Great Commission.

  • It is the natural result of following Jesus.
  • It spells out the process of making disciples (baptize, teach to obey and go) that we can follow.

Quick Review: Looking back at your notes from this week’s teaching, was there anything that particularly caught your attention, challenged or confused you?

Discussion Questions:

  1. Please read Matthew 28:16-20. How did you feel about this week’s passage?
  2. What did you learn about this passage from the message?
  3. What is God stirring up in you to apply to your daily living from this message?

We would like to welcome our guest missionary speakers, Geoff and Liz Folland, CRU – Australia today. If you are visiting, we want to extend a special welcome to you, and we invite you to an informal reception immediately following our worship service. Pastor Jeff will meet you at the Welcome Center.

As part of our Summer Refresh schedule, we want to take a night to celebrate and have a fun evening of music and food in the beautiful outdoors of Evergreen. On Saturday July 8, starting at 5:30 PM here at the church, we will get together outside for a meal. Meat, drinks and
paper goods will be provided by the church, please bring a side dish or dessert to share. Then at 6:30 PM, we will follow that with a concert from our friend Danny Byram. Please brings chairs and blankets to settle in and enjoy the music. Mark your calendar to join us Saturday, July 8 for this refreshing night!

We are accepting nominations through today for candidates to be considered to join the Elder Board. Forms are available in the church office. Please contact an elder with any questions you may have.

We are praising God for a great week at VBS! We also want to thank all our amazing volunteers who made this week possible, and all the kids who came. We had approximately 150 children attending and are excited to hear from some of them during our services today. A big shout out to Debbie Stewart and Meredith Zouski for their fantastic leadership.

Live It Out is a strategic initiative toward fulfilling a vision that every person in our community would experience the love of God in a practical way through Aspen Ridge Church. This involves building and mobilizing our small group network toward service projects in our community. One of our aims is to hire a “Director of Small Groups” who would continue to build our small group ministry. Norm Lewis is the chairman of this search team with Pastor Jeff and Michelle Force. We have received several applications for this position. We covet your prayers as we begin to identify those who may be the best fit for this important ministry.

DV8 is combining middle and high school for the summer. We will now meet on Thursday nights for both groups. June begins our Back Porch nights and we will meet from 6:00 – 9:00 PM. We would love to see you there!
