The Height of Faith – Jesus is Greater
Hebrews 3:1-6
Todd Ickes, Reclaim Ministries

The Big Idea: Jesus is worthy of our consideration and confession.

  • Consider our heavenly calling, and fix your thoughts on Jesus.

  • Jesus is the faithful apostle, high priest and son.

  • God is the builder, and we are the house.

Discussion Questions

Quick Review: Looking back at your notes from this week’s teaching, was there anything that particularly caught your attention, challenged or confused you?

My Story: On an average day what do you spend your time thinking about? What do you obsess over? How can you create a plan to evaluate your thought life?

Digging Deeper:

  1. The word confess means “to declare faith in or adherence to; to acknowledge or avow by way of revelation; to own or admit as true.” Words are powerful. Who or what do you confess? What do you hear yourself confessing on a given day?
  2. Servant versus Son: How do you view God (i.e. judge, impersonal, father, etc.)? How do you view Jesus?
  3. The Bible describes God as our Father and Jesus as our brother, and us as God’s house…and Jesus’ body. These are personal and powerful words. Do you see yourself as God sees you? Does how you see yourself align with God’s Word?

Taking it Home: Is Jesus “greater” in your life? In what ways have you surrendered to Him? In what ways has He shown himself greater? Is there an area in your life that Jesus is asking you to surrender to him?
