  • What is Islam?
  • How are Americans responding?
  • How would Jesus respond to a Muslim?

Islam and the American Christian Discussion Guide

  1. What can Christians learn from Muslim practices?
  2. If a Muslim family moved next door to you, what steps would you take to influence them for Christ?
  3. What are some topics/behaviors you should avoid in making friends with a Muslim?
  4. How could we respond to news reports about Muslims?

Please join us in welcoming Jim Ardill and his wife Shari, one of our long-standing ministry partners, to our services this weekend. Jim is the SW Regional Director for SIM USA. We support Jim and Shari prayerfully and financially, and we are pleased to have Jim as our guest speaker. If you are visiting, we want to extend a special welcome to you and invite you to an informal reception immediately following our worship service. On Saturday, Pastor Jeff will be available in the Celebration Center, and on Sunday, he and his wife, Mary, will meet you at the Welcome Center.

It may be that you are interested in baptism for yourself or a family member. Our next baptism will be the weekend of August 29-30. Please be in touch with church leadership by August 15 if you would like to participate in the next baptism weekend!

Kids Guitar Camp is here! We are limiting it to 8 students this year in order to improve the experience. You can sign up until August 3—if it doesn’t fill up before then! Save your spot now…cost is $50. Please email Pastor Kerry to register at [email protected]

Do you have items or services you would like to display or sell at our fall celebration, RidgeFest, on September 26? Please check out our website for more details or to register as a vendor.

Our Lost and Found closet is located on the lower level, to the right of the elevator door. We will be cleaning out this closet and putting the items left in the MOPS yard sale on August 8. Please take a moment to check for personal items before Friday, August 7.

Middle school and high school students, we will be at the Force home on Thursday, August 6, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM for Back Porch. Vans will leave the church promptly at 6:00 PM. Please see our DV8 Facebook page for the fun details on our end-of-summer events.

Aspen Ridge Mothers of Preschoolers are hosting their annual yard sale on August 8, from 8:00 AM – 2:00 PM. If you have items you would like to donate, they will be collecting items in the student center this coming week. Someone will be available from 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM each day, and until 5:00 PM on Friday. Support our MOPS ladies and the amazing outreach that they provide to families in our community!

For nearly 20 years, our church has been pleased to host “Taste of Christmas” – a Women’s Ministry event. This is usually held on or around the first Monday in November, as an introduction to the holiday season. Due to transitions within the life of our church, this event is currently without a leader. We believe that if God intends us to continue this ministry, He will provide leadership. If you have a suggestion or a recommendation toward that end, please contact the church office by August 16.
