Quick Review: Looking back at your notes from this week’s teaching, was there anything that particularly caught your attention, challenged or confused you?
- What do you think of when you hear the term “spiritual”? What does it mean to be “spiritual?” What misconceptions do we sometimes have about what it means to be spiritual?
- What is your attitude towards spiritual gifts? How important do you think they are? How does your attitude differ from the problem Paul addressed in the Corinthian church?
- What should 1 Corinthians 12:1-3 look like in our church today?
We welcome Dave Mathewson as our speaker this weekend. Dave is one of our own and a professor at Denver Seminary. If you are visiting, we want to extend a special welcome to you and invite you to an informal reception immediately following our worship service. On Saturday, Dave will be available in the Celebration Center, and on Sunday, he and his wife, Joyce will meet you at the Welcome Center.
The church consists of many members that come together to form one unified body. Beginning April 11, we will look at what it means to be a member of Christ’s body. We will be discussing how the Scriptures define the expectations for the concept of membership in the local church. We will also be seeking, as a body, to find out where our unique gifts and talents can be used in ministry to serve our community.
SMALL GROUP LEADER TRAINING
There will be a Small Group Training meeting for group leaders Sunday, April 19 following the worship service. Lunch will be served and child care will be provided. All small group leaders and those who desire to lead a small group are invited to attend.
We have had significant interest in a spring Baptism. We have scheduled a Baptism Weekend on April 25-26. If you are interested in joining this process, please call the church office to schedule a pastoral interview at least one week prior.
PRECEPT TRAINING WORKSHOP
Aspen Ridge Church will be hosting a workshop on the Essentials of Inductive Bible Study on May 2, from 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM. This three hour workshop, taught by John Hubbach, addresses how to personally interact with God’s Word, understand its meaning and apply it to your life. You can register online through our website or pick up a form in the church office. Registrations must be received on or before Thursday, April 23.
LOST AND FOUND
It is time to “spring clean” our lost and found closet, located downstairs next to the elevator. Please stop by and check for any of your belongings that may have found their way there. On May 1, we will be donating all items that are left.
DV8 HOSTS DATE NIGHT
his event is a fundraiser for our DV8 students attending retreats and camps this year. If you are a parent who needs a night out, you can drop your kids off at church on Friday, April 24 from 5:00 – 9:00 PM. The DV8 students, along with some parent volunteers, will be providing fun, snacks and a movie for the kids in attendance. There is a suggested donation of $10 per hour. All proceeds go to our students!
