Quick Review: Looking back at your notes from this week’s teaching,
was there anything that particularly caught your attention, challenged
or confused you?

My Story: Today our topic has to do with the Church on mission. How
can you, your small group, or your family be “on mission” with Aspen
Ridge Church? Why do you think it is important to be “on mission”?

Digging Deeper:

  1. Jesus calls us to be his witnesses in Acts 1:8. How would you define Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria & the ends of the earth for yourself? Your family? Your small group? Aspen Ridge Church?
  2. What are some practical ways that you as an individual can engage with Aspen Ridge Church in the area of outreach? What would that look like?
  3. Who is a missionary? Where is your mission field?
  4. What does it mean to be part of “the called out ones”?
  5. Jonathan Martin in his book “Giving Wisely” likens money to fire. How can you guard against that fire causing harm?

Taking It Home: These passages clearly spell out how God has
decided to use His church to reach the world. What does being on
mission look like in your life? How can you help Aspen Ridge Church
be on mission and focused in the area of Outreach?

We would like to welcome Mark Whaley to our pulpit this weekend. If you
are visiting today, we want to extend a special welcome to you and invite
you to an informal reception immediately following our worship service.
On Saturday, Mark is available in the Celebration Center, and on
Sunday, he will meet you at the Welcome Center in the entryway.

Baptism is a great way to start a new year. If you are interested in
participating during the first weekend in January, please contact the
church office. There will be orientation meetings with Pastor Jeff on
December 15 and 22 at 9:00 AM.

The Gathering is open to all, meeting in Room 104 during the 9:00 AM

Christmas”. Please join us as we take a fun and educational look at
misperceptions of Christmas. The Gathering will break for Christmas
December 22 and 29, resuming January 5 with Dave Furman in a
fascinating discussion on “Christianity and its Basis in Law”.

Thank you to all of those who served and made our Thanksgiving
Community Dinner a success. Almost 200 friends and neighbors
attended and there was one slice of turkey left at the end of the evening.
A special thank you to Diana Blake for heading up this event.

Thank you to all who participated in the shoebox collection campaign.
We had a goal of collecting 200 boxes and Praise the Lord that is exactly
what was collected.

Mark your calendars for our Children’s Christmas Nativity Play on

Student CBS will be not be meeting on November 24 and December 1
due to Thanksgiving break.

On January 21, Aspen Ridge will be hosting a Social Security Workshop
led by Bob Blake, Michael Speer and Bronco Ring of Fame football
player, Randy Gradishar. The workshop will cover several areas that can
affect how much you collect in benefits over your lifetime. Be sure to
bring a friend!

This weekend, we will be receiving offerings for the benevolent fund.
This fund has had unusually large expenses in the past month, as it was
used in the Thanksgiving ministry along with other needs in our church
family. Your generosity is greatly appreciated as you consider ministering
in this way. Ushers will welcome your gift as you exit, or you may present
an offering to the church office at any time for this purpose.
