Do you ever wonder what to do with the “hard sayings” of Jesus? You know, the times or occasions he said things like: “turn the other cheek,” or “you must be perfect,” or even “unless you eat my flesh and drink my blood, you have no life in you”? I am convinced there are many reasons these sayings can be hard to understand. These include the different cultural background in Jesus’ day, the finitude of our human minds, and even the resistance of human hearts. But we want to sift through those difficulties and understand what Jesus really meant with those hard sayings.

Once we understand what he meant, we can receive his truth, turn from our self-centered ways, and be transformed in a relationship with him. I invite you and a friend to connect on a weekend (or online) with Aspen Ridge Church this summer for “The Hard Sayings of Jesus.”
