Just a reminder that Aspen Ridge Church will return to three weekend services beginning the first weekend in October. These include Saturdays at 5:00 PM and Sundays at 9:00 AM & 10:30 AM. Some have asked why we are doing such since we do have space and room to accommodate our current attendance patterns with our summer, 2-service schedule.
First, we believe that providing 3 service times gives additional choices for attendees and prospective guests. Moving forward with our new “post COVID” realities will require flexibility and adaptability, and we understand people’s schedules are full and demanding. Sustaining the choices available with our regular, 3-service format gives us the best opportunity to honor schedules and assimilate guests and newcomers.
Second, our regular school-year format allows people to serve in one Sunday morning service and attend another. Did you know that each weekend service calls for over 20 (and up to 30) kingdom workers in children’s & student ministry, sound and video support, greeters, ushers, and security team members? Having 2 Sunday services allows these to supplement the regular gathering of God’s people with service and ministry. If you are interested to know more about service in any of these areas, please let us know at 303-674-4312.
Third, we do have young adult small groups that have gathered opposite our Sunday morning service(s) since childcare is needed. Small groups are a “side door” and a place or way we will increasingly invite neighbors to find a home in Christ. Having an additional Sunday service allows us to serve these young adult small groups and their children. We have sought a multiplying effect among this demographic since the harvest is plentiful.
I am looking forward to seeing you this weekend as we begin a new series entitled “Honor God” from the prophet Malachi.
Expectantly,
Pastor Jeff
