Hello Friend of Aspen Ridge Church,

In coordination with our series in Colossians entitled “The Authority of Christ,” we will be giving special attention to the subjects of marriage (on the weekend of August 12/13) and parenting (on the weekend of August 19/20). This practical help will take the form of elective seminars. Let me take a few moments to describe things further so you can understand how these weekends will unfold.

We will present our regular worship services in the Celebration Center on the subjects described above.  For marriage, Pastor Jeff will present a message on Colossians 3:18-19. For parenting, Pastor Jeff will present a message on Colossians 3:20-21. During the marriage emphasis weekend, seminars will be available opposite each weekend service (at 5:00 PM and 10:00 AM). During the parenting emphasis weekend, one seminar will be available opposite the Saturday service (at 5:00 PM).

Marriage Seminars – Chris and Jennifer Schultz from Hold Fast Marriage Ministries will be speaking downstairs in the Fellowship Hall. On Saturday, August 12 at 5:00 PM their seminar will be “I Think We Are Finally Talking.” This will have to do with communication and conflict resolution. On Sunday, August 13 at 10:00 AM their seminar will be “I Understand You,” an awareness and appreciation of the differences in any marriage relationship. As always, childcare is provided.

Parenting Seminar – opposite the Saturday Night service on August 19 at 5:00 PM, in the Student Center, we will offer a parenting seminar by trusted, seasoned parents who are willing to share best practices for parenting. This event will include dinner, and a Q & A after dinner until about 7:00 PM. Please contact the church office to RSVP for this event so we can plan food and extended childcare.

It appears many in our church and community could be helped by practical support in these vitally important areas of family life. Whether or not you are married or have children in the home, you can be supportive of these initiatives in prayer and perhaps extend invitations to those who could be helped.

For Marriages & Families,

Pastor Jeff Clark
