Aspen Ridge Family,

As you can imagine, the leadership of Aspen Ridge has been monitoring the Coronavirus / COVID-19 situation as it develops in the state of Colorado. With the constant stream of news and updates on this topic, we have wanted to be careful to neither overreact nor underreact to the widespread reports.

From a practical standpoint, here is where we stand with our services and meetings at this moment in time. This coming weekend, our standard worship services WILL be held as usual. We will have our Saturday at 5:00 PM and Sunday 9:00 AM and 10:30 AM services, March 14 & 15.

But as for our “Extra-Curricular” activities here at Aspen Ridge, we will be CANCELLING/POSTPONING the following:Men’s Breakfast, Souper Saturday, Movie Night w/ “Overcomer,” MOPS, CBS, AWANA, Wed Night Prayer at church, Middle and High School Youth Group for the coming week.

The reason for many of these midweek cancellations comes from the fact that our policy is to follow suit with the Jefferson County school system. It will be left up to the individual Small Groups to make decisions about whether to hold gatherings or not.

We want to encourage those of the Aspen Ridge Church body who would be considered “at risk” to protect themselves from potential contact. If you stay home this weekend, you will be able to listen to the sermon podcast Sunday afternoon by 1:00 PM.

Of course this is a very fluid situation, and we are going to continue to monitor the progress and updates on this virus as it develops. The leadership of Aspen Ridge is committed to doing it’s best to keep it’s members safe and healthy. We’ll continue to offer updates and notify you if and when more changes occur.

Finally, and maybe most importantly, let us remember that one of the most repeated phrases in the Bible is “Do not be afraid.” We are called by God to be people of faith, not fear. It’s easy to get swept up in a 24-hour news cycle. But we must not allow uncertainty, anxiety and fear to rule our lives. We have committed as a church to be praying through the month of March and up through Easter, let’s remember to carve out some time for petitionary prayer and spending time in the presence of our Lord… listening to His voice, interceding for those who are in need or who’s names are on the cross in our Celebration Center and offering praise and thanksgiving for all of the wonderful gifts He’s bestowed on us.

We’ll be in touch!

In Christ,

Aspen Ridge Elders and Staff
