This year, Aspen Ridge will focus on a new and different type of teaching series alongside our celebration of the Christmas holidays. Our series, “He Came,” describes why the Son of God became flesh, entering this broken world. The virgin gave birth to a baby so he could become a mature adult who would make a way to God through faith in his cross work and resurrection. We are listening to what Jesus expressly taught about why he came into the world. These teachings include bearing witness to the truth, calling sinners, doing his Father’s will, overthrowing evil and saving sinners.
Our Christmas Eve candlelight services will be based on John 12:46, where Jesus says “I have come into the world as light, so that whoever believes in me may not remain in darkness.” These services will include a children’s message and will have our community in mind. We will hold them at 3:30 PM and 5:00 PM on Sunday, December 24, and we encourage you to extend invitations to friends and neighbors. In light of these services, we will combine our Sunday morning services on December 24 at 10:00 AM. We will have our regular Saturday night service at 5:00 PM on December 23. I look forward to celebrating the birth of Christ with you.
