One of the core values of Aspen Ridge Church is:

We invest in families so
the generation to come may know the treasures of the Gospel.

Consider the following Psalm:

Give ear, O my people, to my teaching;
incline your ears to the words of my mouth!
I will open my mouth in a parable;
I will utter dark sayings from of old,
things that we have heard and known,
that our fathers have told us.
We will not hide them from their children,
but tell to the coming generation
the glorious deeds of the Lord, and his might,
and the wonders that he has done.

He established a testimony in Jacob
and appointed a law in Israel,
which he commanded our fathers
to teach to their children,
that the next generation might know them,
the children yet unborn, and arise and tell them to their children,
so that they should set their hope in God
and not forget the works of God
(Psalm 78:1-7a ESV)

Is
this not what we ultimately desire for our kids? This Psalm captures
the essence of why I do what I do. My desire is simply to influence the
next generation about the works of God. I realize that I cannot do this
alone. One person cannot adequately influence a young person, especially
with the limited time available. Parents cannot do this alone either.
We must work together as a team to adequately influence our kids for
Christ. My hope is to equip parents and adults to have a lasting
influence so that together we can accomplish this goal. This is one of
the reasons that I am so excited about the upcoming class in January at
the 9am hour on Sunday mornings called, “The Highs and Lows of Parenting
Teenagers”. Come and lets learn together how we can turn the tide of
negative influences in our kids lives. See you at 9am on Sunday
mornings!
