Personal, Family and Pastoral Enrichment to Finish Well

Personal, Family and Pastoral Enrichment to Finish Well

I have a strong desire to finish the course of my pastoral ministry with energy, fire and passion. I believe the best and most productive years for Aspen Ridge Church, and for my own life, are ahead. I seek to use a month-long sabbatical for personal, family, and...

Broken And Stripped

Broken And Stripped

I wrote Broken And Stripped years ago, but I never did much with it. When I would play it at churches, I'd always keep it very minimal and simply finger pick on my acoustic guitar to accompany it. Earlier this year I was playing around on the guitar and singing it and...

Gaining Ground: Annual Report

Gaining Ground: Annual Report

Sometimes we use tangible, physical language to talk about life in God’s Holy Spirit. One example includes physical battle lines in a war. When nations engage in battle, there are geo-political battle lines that are drawn…and then re-drawn after the conflict. Unless...

Changing Winds

Changing Winds

Lately, I have been struck by the changing seasons I feel in the air and wind all around me. The days around here have felt like summer, while the nights and mornings have the cool crispness of the coming fall. This glorious temperature and visual metamorphosis from summer to fall in the mountains is probably my favorite time of the year. It gives me a chance to savor the adventures of the warm summer months while looking forward to the fresh fall journey ahead and delight in the feel of both seasons within each day. It is joyfully inspired by this wind of changing seasons that I write you about the past, present and future seasons of small group life at Aspen Ridge Church.

Revealed: A Poem by Eric

Revealed: A Poem by Eric

See spring mountains burst alive with light aspen green, hear birds singing praise as sunlight hits the morning scene. “New life” they proclaim, with a “cheep, chirp” as it begins to rain. Feel the warm afternoon sun on your face, surrounded by a vibrant blue sky...

Revealed!

Revealed!

I am fascinated by how the God of the Bible reveals Himself to all people, everywhere, at all times and in all places.  The foundational idea behind our Christian faith is that we may know God because He disclosed Himself to us.  Apart from disclosing Himself, God...

Death & Life

Death & Life

Our theme for Easter will be Death & Life, a reminder that Jesus rose again from the dead in order to bring us to God, the source of eternal life. I will use 1 Peter 3:18 as my text, “For Christ also died for sins once for all, the just for the unjust, in order to...

I will be leading along side of Ariel Meyers, the Children’s Director at Stapleton Church. The topic we will be discussing is “The In-betweens.”
